Enroll Android devices out of the box with 6-tap QR code in HexnodeSolved

Android Enterprise Device Owner enrollment can be initiated on a new or factory-reset Android device using the 6-tap QR code method.

To generate the QR code in Hexnode UEM portal:

1. Go to Enroll.
2. Select Platform-Specific.
3. Choose Android.
4. Open Android Enterprise.
5. Link your organization with Google if it has not already been linked.
6. After Android Enterprise is configured, generate the enrollment QR code from the Android Enterprise enrollment section.

On the Android device:

1. Power on the new or factory-reset device.
2. Stay on the initial Welcome screen.
3. Tap the screen 6 times in the same area.
4. The QR code scanner should open.
5. Scan the QR code generated from the Hexnode UEM portal.
6. Continue with the setup prompts to complete enrollment.

This enrolls the device as an Android Enterprise Device Owner, which is the recommended mode for full device management and kiosk deployments.

For kiosk mode, complete the Android Enterprise enrollment first, then apply the required kiosk policy to the enrolled devices from Hexnode UEM.

Does the Android Enterprise/Google setup require any extra payment to Google?, or is that included with Hexnode?

Google does not charge an additional fee to register your organization for Android Enterprise or to use Android Enterprise for device management.

You only need to link your organization with Google from the Hexnode portal before generating the enrollment QR code. Once the linking is complete, you can use Android Enterprise enrollment methods such as QR code enrollment for supported Android devices.
