Hello @abel-j ,
Yes, kiosk mode can interfere with some Android Enterprise and Google Play processes if the required system or store components are not allowed to run.
For work account creation, try the following:
- Temporarily exit kiosk mode or remove the kiosk policy from the affected device.
- In Hexnode UEM, open the device and go to the Enrollment details > Work Account Creation.
- Re-initiate Work Account Creation.
- If the status changes to Initiated, wait for the device to check in and complete the process.
- Once the work account is created successfully, reapply the kiosk policy.
For managed Google Play app installation in kiosk mode, the Google Play Store must be allowed to run in the background. Even though the app is pushed from Hexnode and does not require a personal Gmail account, Android still uses Google Play services/Play Store processes to complete store app installation.
To allow this in kiosk mode:
- Go to Policies and edit the active Android kiosk policy.
- Navigate to Kiosk Lockdown > Android Kiosk Lockdown > Background Apps.
- Click Configure.
- Add Google Play Store. The package name is com.android.vending.
- Save and associate the updated policy.
- Let the device sync, then retry the app installation from Hexnode.
After this, store apps assigned through Hexnode UEM should install silently without requiring manual Google Play sign-in on the device.

Simon Scott
