I’m using Hexnode for Windows patch management and had a question about the patch approval status. If I approve a patch from the patch list, will Hexnode automatically update all unpatched devices? Also, do users get a prompt before anything installs, or does it happen silently?

Hi @pepijn,
Approving a Windows patch does not always mean it will be installed immediately. The deployment behavior depends on the patch automation or OS update policy configured in Hexnode.
If a patch automation rule is active:
–Notify only: Users receive a notification that updates are available. They can then manually start the download and installation.
–Auto Download & Install: Hexnode downloads and installs the approved updates in the background. Users are prompted only if a restart is required to complete the installation.
If there is no active patch automation rule or OS update policy targeting the devices, approving the patch only changes its status to Approved. It will not be deployed to devices until a deployment rule or policy is configured.
