Different Hexnode apps on Samsung tablets: Remote View, Assist, and kiosk accessSolved

For Samsung Android devices, Hexnode Remote View is the app used for remote view and remote control functionality.

If you see Hexnode Assist on some Samsung tablets, it may be due to an older remote control requirement. Previously, Samsung devices running Android 15 or later required both Hexnode Remote View and Hexnode Assist for remote control. This requirement has changed, and Samsung devices now require only Hexnode Remote View.

So, if these are Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ devices, Hexnode Assist can be safely uninstalled if it is not required for any other use case.

To uninstall Hexnode Assist from multiple devices:

1. On your Hexnode UEM console, go to the Manage tab.
2. Select the required devices using the checkboxes.
3. Click Actions.
4. Go to Applications > Uninstall Application.
5. Select Hexnode Assist and confirm the action.

Regarding Hexnode Browser, it is usually present when it is deployed through an app policy or required for a web app kiosk configuration. If only some devices have it, check whether it was deployed earlier, manually installed, or associated with a previous kiosk/browser policy.

Related question: in kiosk mode, is there any way to let users access Samsung’s Device Care memory cleaner from the lock screen widget? I have widgets like weather, calendar, and Device Care set up, but the memory cleaner widget doesn’t seem usable once kiosk is enabled.

In Kiosk Mode, Hexnode’s custom launcher takes over and restricts access to the standard Android system UI. Because of this, lock screen widgets and their interactions, including widgets such as Samsung Device Care memory cleaner, are typically blocked or unavailable.

As a workaround, add the native Device Care app, Storage Booster app, or another preferred memory cleaner app as an allowed app in a Multi-App Kiosk policy. This places the app directly on the kiosk home screen, allowing users to open it and run the memory cleaner without leaving the secured kiosk environment or relying on lock screen widgets.
