Hi everyone,
I wanted to know if it’s possible to use Hexnode to get past a Knox lock on a tablet and associate the device with our company instead.
From what I know, if the device is still linked to another company’s Knox enrollment, it usually cannot be reused directly under a different organization.
Hi @ezekiel,
No, it is not possible to bypass a Knox lock using Hexnode or any other MDM solution.
Samsung Knox is a hardware-level security feature. If a device is locked through Knox Mobile Enrollment (KME) or Knox Guard, the tablet remains tied to the original organization that enrolled it. Once the device connects to the internet, it automatically communicates with the original company’s Knox enrollment configuration.
To use the device under your organization, the previous owner or company would need to remove the device from their Knox portal first. Only after that can the device be enrolled into your Hexnode portal or any other MDM environment.

We ran into this with a few second-hand Samsung tablets. Even after factory resetting them, they automatically tried to enroll back into the previous company’s setup once connected to Wi-Fi.
