Can Hexnode show Windows app utilization reports for RAM and CPU usage?Solved

I’m trying to monitor app utilization on Windows devices from Hexnode. The main thing I need is an easy report showing which apps are using the most RAM, for example Google Chrome being the highest memory consumer on a computer.

I found the Windows script approach, but it is not ideal for what I need. After exporting the script results, I still have to calculate or interpret the usage manually. I’m also looking for something like 30 days of utilization data across devices.

Another issue is that some Windows devices are not online every day. If I schedule the script through automation, I’m worried the actions will just stack up and run later when the device comes online.

Is there a built-in way in Hexnode to monitor Windows app RAM/CPU utilization over time, or is scripting the only option right now?

Hello @tommy ,

Hexnode UEM currently does not provide a native, aggregated Windows application utilization report that shows historical RAM or CPU usage per app over a period such as 30 days.

The built-in Application Usage reports in Hexnode are available for Android, where app usage details such as app open duration and screen time can be reported natively. For Windows devices, the available workaround is to deploy a custom PowerShell script that checks specific application processes and returns metrics such as memory and CPU usage.

For devices that are offline during the scheduled time, the action may remain pending and run when the device checks in again, depending on how the action is queued. This means the collected data may not always represent the originally scheduled time, so it may not be reliable for precise historical utilization reporting across intermittently online Windows devices.

If you use the workaround, it is better suited for approximate periodic checks on devices that are usually online during the scheduled window. For accurate 30-day app utilization reporting with automatic aggregation, this would require native reporting support or a separate monitoring/reporting workflow.
