Is there a way to clear or delete an eSIM from a managed iPhone using Hexnode? I’m trying to remove the cellular plan remotely, but I don’t want to wipe the whole device if there’s another option.

Apple does not allow MDM solutions to selectively remove only the eSIM profile from an iPhone or iPad while keeping the rest of the device intact.

If you need to remove the eSIM remotely from Hexnode, the available method is to wipe the device:

1. Go to Manage > Devices.

2. Select the iOS device.

3. Click Actions > Wipe Device.

4. In the wipe confirmation prompt, leave Retain eSIM Configuration unchecked.

On iOS 11 and later, the Retain eSIM Configuration option determines whether the cellular plan remains after the wipe. If this option is checked, the device is erased but the eSIM/cellular plan is retained. If it is unchecked, the wipe removes the eSIM configuration as well.

If you want to remove the eSIM without erasing the device data, it must be done locally on the device from Settings > Cellular or Mobile Data > select the cellular plan > Delete eSIM.
