There is a android device in multi app kiosk. Not shown the message sent from administrator on the device. Why is this happening?

Hey, Thanks for posting the query.

Please navigate to Android Kiosk Lockdown > Peripheral Settings > Messenger. Enable the option ‘View messages sent by the admin’. The user will now be able to view the messages sent by the admin to kiosk devices from the MDM console using the Hexnode messenger. Please note to associate targets and save the policy.

Kindly use the help link for more info on the peripheral settings.

Cheers!

Can I sent device details such as ID, user name etc to user, without messaging each of them indvidually. I need them to receive a message with these details on their device.

Thanks for the reply.

Hexnode will enable you to broadcast messages to Android, iOS and Windows 10 devices. You can use wildcards in these messages to include the device and user details. Thus, each device will receive the message with the specific device/user details without configuring separate messages for each.

To broadcast the message:

  1. Navigate to Manage-> Devices and select the desired devices.
  2. Click on the Actions drop-down and select Broadcast message.
  3. Type in the message. It can include the following wildcards: %devicename%, %imei%, %serialnumber%, %name%, %email%, %deviceid%, %domain%, %netbiosname%, %udid%, %model%, %phonenumber%, %iccid%, wifimacaddress%.
  4. Click on Send.

Please check out our help doc on broadcasting messages for more info.

Cheers!

How are these messages displayed on the iOS device screen, prompt? Also, what if any included wild card detail is not available, how will the message then be displayed?

Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

On iOS devices, the messages are shown as notifications. These messages can be later viewed under Messages in the Hexnode app. The unread message count will also be shown as badges on the Hexnode app.
The iOS devices will also show the message on the lock screen.
If the wildcard detail that was included in the message is not available, the wildcard will be displayed as such.

Please check out our help doc on broadcasting messages for more info.

Cheers!
