Hey @_ashur,
The behavior is expected on Android 7.1.2 due to platform limitations.
The configurable Auto-exit Wi-Fi settings timer in Hexnode relies on Android platform capabilities that are supported on Android 10 and above, including Android TV 10 and above. On Android 7.1.2, the Wi-Fi configuration screen may close after a short hardcoded interval, even if the kiosk policy is configured with a longer timeout such as 120 seconds.
There is no Hexnode policy option on Android 7.1.2 to disable auto-exit while also keeping Show all available Wi-Fi networks enabled.
Available options are:
- Keep Show all available Wi-Fi networks enabled and accept the short auto-exit behavior on Android 7.1.2.
- Disable Show all available Wi-Fi networks. Users can still toggle Wi-Fi and switch between saved networks, but they will not be able to browse all nearby networks.
- Add the native Settings app to the kiosk policy, or enable the status bar and add Settings as a background app. This allows users to access the device Wi-Fi settings without the Peripheral Settings auto-exit behavior.
The trade-off with option 3 is that users get access to the broader Android Settings app, not only Wi-Fi settings.
Regards,
Isabel Lora
