Android contacts imported with .vcf not syncing to newly enrolled devicesSolved

I’m managing Android device owner devices and want to push a shared phone contact list to them. I know contacts can be imported using a file, but I’m trying to avoid doing this separately every time a new phone is enrolled.

Is there a way to upload a contacts file into a policy so it gets imported automatically when the policy is applied? Or does the contact import action need to be run manually for each new device?

Hi @benwhite ,

To import contacts automatically on newly enrolled devices, create an automation under Automations, select the On Enrollment trigger, and add the Import Contacts action. This imports the specified .vcf contact file when a new device is enrolled.

Alternatively, if your contacts are maintained in an Exchange account, you can configure Policies > Android > Accounts > Exchange ActiveSync to sync contacts from that account on supported devices. Unlike importing a .vcf file, this method synchronizes contacts through the configured account.
