"Account not authorized" error during device enrollmentSolved

Hi everyone, I’m running into a wall here. I’m trying to add a new device to our Hexnode portal, but right in the middle of the enrollment process, it keeps throwing an “account not authorized” error. I haven’t changed any of our admin credentials or Apple Business Manager settings recently.

Has anyone else encountered this? Any idea what triggers it?

Sorry to hear you are running into this! The “account not authorized” error during enrollment can be a little vague and can pop up for a handful of reasons. To help us narrow it down, could you grab a quick picture or screenshot of the device screen showing the exact error message?

Also, one quick thing to check while you do that: can you verify if you have sufficient device licenses available in your Hexnode portal? Sometimes, if you have hit your maximum license limit, the server will block the new enrollment and throw an authorization or authentication error.

Wow, you nailed it on the first try. I didn’t even think to check our license count, and we were completely maxed out. I went in and freed up a license from an old, retired device we no longer use. I also went ahead and refreshed our ADE token just to be on the safe side. I tried the enrollment again and it went through instantly without any errors.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
