I’m enrolling an Apple device through Apple Business Automated Device Enrollment in Hexnode. The device gets to the setup/end-user experience stage, but instead of configuring automatically, it shows a username and password prompt.
I expected it to complete enrollment without asking for credentials. Is this normal, and can I make the device enroll automatically without that prompt?

This usually happens when Authenticated Enrollment is enabled in the Automated Device Enrollment profile.
To check this in Hexnode:
1. Go to Admin > Apple Business.
2. Open Automated Device Enrollment.
3. Select the Enrollment Profile associated with the device.
4. Go to General Settings > Authentication.
5. Check whether authentication is enabled.
When authentication is enabled, the device asks for a username and password during enrollment so that the device can be assigned to the user who signs in. If authentication is disabled, the device will enroll automatically and will be assigned to the default user configured for the enrollment profile.
