A fresh look for macOS enterprise app upload: Introducing ‘Hexnode for Admin’Solved

Managing enterprise applications for macOS just got a massive upgrade. We are introducing a brand-new, highly secure way to upload your DMG, PKG, and MPKG files to your Hexnode UEM portal and deploy them to your managed endpoints.

To power this, we have launched the Hexnode for Admin application. This is a dedicated macOS app that provides secure access to your portal. You must install this app on the specific Mac you use to upload your files. This brings a faster and more transparent workflow to your Hexnode inventory management. 

What you unlock with the new application: 

• Secure Local Parsing: Uploads are now processed directly on your Mac. The application securely extracts all necessary installation data from your DMG, PKG, or MPKG files right on your machine before syncing with the Hexnode portal. 

• Granular App Previews: Get complete visibility into your installers! As soon as you select a file for upload, a comprehensive App Details screen provides an instant breakdown of all detected main packages, sub-packages, bundle identifiers, and version numbers. This empowers you to verify every detail before the app is added to your inventory. 

• Auto-Detected Success Criteria: When you configure app installation settings via policy or remote action, Hexnode UEM uses the parsed data to automatically detect app identifiers and file paths. You can simply select the right criteria from the dropdown list or type them manually if you prefer. 

Where to find it: 

Navigate to Admin > Hexnode for Admin within your UEM portal to download the application. Once installed, simply authenticate with your portal URL and credentials to unlock this upgraded local upload flow.
