Need to block the apps that are not related to work from my user’s devices. Not only the apps, the websites also needs to be blocked from being accessed!!!!
Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.
To block specific apps on the user’s device, you can blacklist those apps. Please follow the below steps for blacklisting apps:
- Navigate to Policies-> iOS-> App Management-> Blacklist/Whitelist. Click on Configure.
- Choose the blacklist button.
- Click on the +Add to add apps or group of apps to be blacklisted.
- Click Done. Associate targets and save the policy.
If specific apps are blacklisted on a supervised iOS device, these apps will be hidden from the device screen. If blacklisted on a non-supervised device, the apps will not be hidden, but the device will be marked as non-compliant. Check out the help doc on blocking apps on iOS devices for more info.
To block specific websites, you can use Web Content Filtering. Follow the below steps for the same:
- Please navigate to Policies-> iOS-> Security-> Web Content Filtering. Click on Configure.
- Choose the blacklist button and add the URLs to be blacklisted.
- Click on the Add button to enlist all the URLs to be blocked. To remove a URL from the list, click on the X button to the right of the URL.
- Associate targets and save the policy.
Web Content Filtering is supported only on Supervised iOS devices.
Cheers!
