iPad can't verify internal enterprise app installed via HexnodeSolved

I’m deploying an internal enterprise app to a managed iPad through Hexnode. The app is added as a required app in a policy, and the Install Application action shows Success in the device Action History.

The Hexnode management profile is verified on the iPad, but when I open the app, iOS shows an “Unable to Verify App” message. Since Hexnode says the app installation completed, I’m not sure whether this is an MDM issue, an app signing issue, or something on the iPad side.

What should I check for an internal enterprise app that installs successfully but fails verification on iOS?

Hello @mo-chou ,

This message is usually generated by iOS rather than Hexnode UEM. For internal enterprise apps, installation and app verification are two separate steps.

If Hexnode UEM shows the Install Application action as successful, the app package was delivered to the device. However, iOS may still block the app from opening if the enterprise developer certificate has not been trusted or if the device cannot verify the certificate.

On the iPad, try the following:

  • Restart the iPad and try launching the app again.
  • Make sure the device has internet access and can reach Apple’s verification services. Network restrictions, proxies, firewalls, captive portals, or SSL inspection can prevent iOS from completing enterprise app verification.
  • Confirm that the Apple Developer Enterprise certificate used to sign the app is still valid and has not expired or been revoked.
  • If the certificate or provisioning profile is no longer valid, the app must be re-signed by the app developer, uploaded again to Hexnode, and redeployed
