Mac cannot add personal Apple IDSolved

A supervised Mac managed through Hexnode is not letting the user enter a personal Apple ID. It looks like an active policy is blocking account changes. Which macOS restriction should be changed in Hexnode so the Apple ID can be added?

Hi @skylar-a,

This usually happens when account modifications are restricted through a macOS policy.

To allow the user to add a personal Apple Account, update the policy applied to the Mac:

  1. Go to Policies in the Hexnode portal.
  2. Open the policy associated with the Mac.
  3. Navigate to macOS > Advanced Restrictions.
  4. Find Modify account.
  5. Make sure Modify account is enabled/checked.
  6. Save the policy and allow it to sync with the device.

Once the updated policy is applied on the Mac, the user should be able to add or modify the Apple Account.
