App Catalog creation audit logs not showing older entries in HexnodeSolved

Hi everyone. I’m trying to confirm which technician created a specific App Catalog in Hexnode. I checked Reports > Audit and exported the Audit History, but it only shows newly created catalogs and entries from today. Older App Catalogs are completely missing.

Does Hexnode keep audit logs for App Catalog creation, and how long are those logs retained? Is there a better way to pull this historical information for our documentation?

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to Hexnode Connect.

Hexnode does record App Catalog creation events, but they are subject to specific data retention limits:

  • Hot Event Log: 90 days (actively accessible in standard views).
  • Archived Event Log: 365 days total (inclusive of the 90-day hot storage period).

If the App Catalog was created over 365 days ago, that event log can no longer be retrieved.

If the creation event happened within the last year but isn’t appearing in the default Audit History export, the best workaround is to build a Custom Report:

  1. Navigate to Reports > Custom Reports.
  2. Create a new custom report for audit/event log data.
  3. Set your required date range.
  4. Filter the report specifically for App Catalog or app-related audit events.

This approach is much more reliable for pulling specific historical event logs for your audit documentation.

I hope this helps you find the records you need. Feel free to reach out if you have any more doubts or need further assistance.

Best regards,
George,
