Hello,

We are excited to announce a new addition to the Privacy Preferences policy for macOS devices!

Managing Privacy Preferences Policy Control (PPPC) profiles is crucial for maintaining device security and ensuring apps have exactly the permissions they need—no more, no less. To give you even more granular control over app behaviors on your Mac fleet, we have added two brand-new services to the Privacy Preferences settings.

Administrators can now manage how applications interact with the system event stream via CoreGraphics APIs using the following options:

  • Post Event: Specify whether or not an app is allowed to use CoreGraphics APIs to send CGEvents to the system event stream.
  • Listen Event: Specify whether or not an app can use CoreGraphics APIs to listen to (or monitor) CGEvents from the system event stream.

These new configurations allow you to tightly secure input monitoring and system event generation, ensuring unnecessary apps aren’t tracking or spoofing user inputs.

We are thrilled to bring this added layer of security to your macOS management toolkit. Please check it out and let us know your thoughts, share them right here in Hexnode Connect!

Best regards,
George
