We have several Mac devices already active and managed through Hexnode. I’m trying to understand whether enrolling a Mac in Hexnode automatically adds it to Apple Business Manager, or if there’s a separate process to get those existing Macs into ABM for automated enrollment later.

Enrolling a Mac in Hexnode UEM does not automatically add the device to Apple Business. Hexnode can manage devices after enrollment, but Apple Business ownership/assignment is handled separately through Apple.
For existing Mac devices that are not already present in ABM, you can add them manually using Apple Configurator. Once the Macs are added to ABM, assign them to the Hexnode MDM server from Apple Business. After that, sync Apple Business in the Hexnode portal and apply the required Automated Device Enrollment configuration.
If the devices are already in use, they may need to go through the Apple Configurator/setup workflow before Automated Device Enrollment can apply.
