Enroll Android Enterprise devices with QR code without Google account loginSolved

Hi everyone. I’m setting up Android Enterprise enrollment for Android devices in Hexnode and want to use the QR code method. I don’t want users to sign in with a Google account on the devices during enrollment.

For this setup, should I configure Android Enterprise using a Google domain or a managed domain? The goal is just to scan the Android Enterprise QR code and enroll the devices directly.

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to Hexnode Connect.

To achieve QR code-based Android Enterprise enrollment without requiring a Google account login on the device, you should configure Android Enterprise using a managed domain.

Once your Android Enterprise is configured, you must also ensure enrollment authentication is turned off. Here is the exact workflow:

  1. Go to Admin > Enrollment.
  2. Set Enrollment Authentication to No Authentication.
  3. Navigate to the Android Enterprise enrollment section.
  4. Scan the Device Owner QR code shown there during the initial Android device setup flow.

With this configuration, the device will enroll directly via the QR code, bypassing the Google account sign-in prompt for the end user.

A quick tip regarding the portal setup: If the Gmail account you are using to configure the Android Enterprise integration was already used for a previous setup (such as during a trial), it may not be available to register a new configuration. If you run into any issues during setup, simply use a different Gmail account to complete the integration.

I hope this helps or resolves your issue. Feel free to reach out if you have any more doubts or need further assistance.

Best regards,
George,
