I’m managing supervised iPhones through Hexnode and wanted to check what is possible with Apple communication features. Can Hexnode be used to send iMessages or start FaceTime calls from the console? Also, is there any way to see the Apple ID email address signed in on a device? One more related question: if an iPhone is put into Lost Mode, can it still receive FaceTime calls?
Can Hexnode send iMessages, start FaceTime calls, or view Apple ID emails on iOS devices?Solved

Hexnode cannot send native iMessages or initiate FaceTime calls from the UEM console.
Apple does not provide MDM APIs that allow administrators to trigger or control iMessage or FaceTime directly. These services are tied to a user’s Apple ID, phone number, and Apple’s consumer communication framework, so MDM solutions cannot send messages or place calls on behalf of the user.
Regarding Apple ID visibility, standard Apple MDM does not allow third-party management tools to extract a user’s personal Apple ID email address from the device because of Apple’s privacy restrictions. Hexnode can only display Apple ID-related information if it is explicitly available through supported management flows or reported device inventory fields; it cannot look into the device and retrieve a personal Apple ID email.
For devices in Lost Mode, Hexnode cannot perform FaceTime-related actions or make the device receive FaceTime calls through MDM. Lost Mode restricts normal device usage, and management is limited to the Lost Mode actions supported by Apple.
So just to confirm, even if the device is supervised, there’s still no way to use Hexnode to make a FaceTime call to it or force it to accept one?
Correct. Supervision gives MDM more control over iOS devices, but it still does not expose APIs for controlling FaceTime or iMessage. Hexnode can manage supported restrictions and remote actions, but it cannot initiate, answer, or force FaceTime calls.
Got it. And for Apple ID, we shouldn’t expect the personal Apple ID email to show up in inventory unless Apple makes that information available through management, right?
Yes. Personal Apple ID details are protected by Apple’s privacy model and are not generally retrievable through MDM inventory. If Apple ID-related information is not exposed through Apple’s supported management framework, Hexnode will not be able to collect or display it.
