Google Workspace sync stopped after deleting original Android Enterprise admin accountSolved

Our Android Enterprise setup in Hexnode was originally configured using a Google Workspace admin account that no longer exists. That admin left the organization and the Google Workspace account was deleted. Since then, Google Workspace sync is not working anymore.

Can this be fixed by adding another admin account in Hexnode, or do we need to generate a new JSON key file and set up the integration again? The devices are enrolled as Device Owner.

If the Google Workspace admin account used to configure Android Enterprise was deleted, simply adding another admin account will not restore the sync. In this case, the backend Google Cloud Project and the API credentials associated with the original administrator are no longer valid.

You will need to reconfigure the Google Workspace integration and generate a new .json key file using a current Google Workspace Super Admin account. Since the affected Android Enterprise enrollment type is Device Owner, reconfiguring the Google Workspace account can cause the existing devices associated with the old Android Enterprise setup to be dis-enrolled. Those devices would then need to be enrolled again after the new configuration is completed.
