I’m setting up an Android Enterprise device with Hexnode, but the device can’t scan the enrollment QR code during setup. Is the manual account setup code “afp#hexnodemdm”, or is there a different identifier I should enter?

Hello @josiah ,

The correct Android Enterprise DPC identifier for Hexnode enrollment is “afw#hexnodemdm”.

During the initial Android device setup, when the device prompts you to enter a Google or Gmail account, type “afw#hexnodemdm” in the email field instead of a Google account.

This will download and launch the Hexnode UEM setup wizard so the device can continue with Android Enterprise enrollment without scanning the QR code.

Does this only work on a freshly reset device?

Yes, this method is intended for use during the initial Android setup flow, typically after a factory reset. Once the device reaches the Google account sign-in screen, entering the DPC identifier in the email field triggers Android Enterprise provisioning through Hexnode.
