Hi, we’re working with BYOD devices and want to keep things minimal. The requirement is to monitor only the Outlook application without managing or tracking anything else on the Android device. Additionally, when an employee leaves the organization, we want to ensure that Outlook is automatically removed or the user is logged out, without affecting their personal data. Is there a way to achieve this?

I think you should try using an Android Work Profile for this. It basically keeps Outlook in a separate work space, so you’re only dealing with the work app and not the whole device.

Hi @merlynn,

This use case aligns well with a BYOD-focused management approach where only corporate data is controlled. To achieve this, you should enroll the devices using the Android Enterprise – Profile Owner mode.

When an employee leaves the organization, performing the Disenroll Device action ensures a clean and secure exit:

  • Automatic Removal: Disenrolling the device or removing the user from the portal removes the Work Profile on Android.
  • Outlook Removal: As part of this process, Outlook is automatically uninstalled (Android), effectively logging the user out.
  • Data Handling: All corporate emails, attachments, and app data associated with Outlook are wiped.
  • Personal Data Integrity: Personal apps, files, photos, and messages remain unaffected, maintaining user privacy.

This approach ensures that only corporate data is managed and removed, without extending control over the entire device.
