We’ve recently started exploring automation around the remote app launch action and are eager to know how others are using itWe tried setting it up to open our onboarding app right after device enrollment. It walks users through setup steps and required configurations, which has reduced the need for manual IT assistance.

Yeahwe’re using it in a similar way, but more for compliance. When a device goes out of compliance, we launch a communication app so users can immediately see what needs to be fixed.

Initially, the action wasn’t working consistently, but we realized the app wasn’t installed on all devices. Once we ensured it was deployed everywhere, things worked as expected.

We’re using it more for routine work. At the start of each shift, a business app gets launched automatically, so users don’t have to search for it every day.

While testing, we also looked into different launch options just to see how they behave.

I came across the “Never keep the app open” option. Not really sure what it actually does. Has anyone used it?

The “Never keep the app open” option allows the app to be launched and then closed immediately. This is typically used to trigger app-level processes that do not require user interaction, such as initializing services, refreshing app data, or executing background tasks.

If you want further assistance, feel free to reach out to us.

Ohh okay, that makes sense. We actually used that with a sync app. It just opens briefly in the background, updates the data, and closes without disturbing the user.

That actually a smart use of it. Didn’t realize that option could be used for background tasks like that.

Thanks everyone for sharing your setups. This gives a much clearer idea of how flexible the Remote App Launch action can be when combined with automation.
