MDM Migration IssuesSolved

I recently migrated about a dozen devices from Rippling to Hexnode. Most of the headache came from the Rippling side, but now that everyone is completely in Hexnode we’re experiencing issues there, too.

The biggest issue is that one user’s device in particular was rendered completely unusable. Screen flickering, apps crashing, and inability to control the mouse. I started troubleshooting with cache clearing, app gpu disabling, clearing app data, app reinstallation, driver updates, restarting the graphics driver, Windows updates…nothing made a difference. It wasn’t until I unenrolled the device from the MDM that it stabilized completely.

Two other uses experienced issues with Google Chrome not syncing their account settings. Bookmarks in particular. One came back after about an hour, the other has still not. Chrome had been crashing for all three users and now just for the two users that are still enrolled.

With the lack of logs available to me in the MDM I’m unsure what diagnostics I have at my disposal to prevent this from happening in future migrations. What analytics are available for this type of behavior? Are any of these known problems?

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to Hexnode Connect.

I really appreciate you taking the time to explain the problem in detail. We understand that post-migration issues like this can be frustrating.

Given the variety of issues occurring across different areas of the devices, troubleshooting will require close coordination. We have raised this internally, and our support staff will reach out to you in no time to get this sorted out.

Best regards,
George,
Hexnode UEM
