Hey everyone,
I need to update only a few specific apps across my macOS devices, mainly for security reasons.
I know that Install application remote action would work, but I don’t have the time to manually select devices and execute the action each time there’s an update.
I’m also not looking to update everything automatically, since a few teams rely on specific app versions for compatibility.
Is there a better way to handle this?

Hi @noah-blake ,
You could use a Required apps policy and upload the updated versions from the portal. I think that would ensure the apps get updated across the selected devices.
I did consider that @carter . But those apps aren’t mandatory for all users.
Wouldn’t Required apps push them to all targeted devices regardless of whether they actually need them?

User 1, on macOS devices, you can use the App Updates policy in Hexnode UEM to automatically update specific apps. Set Auto-update preferences to Update targeted apps only and then select the apps you want to update.
Only those selected apps will receive updates, and the rest will remain unchanged.

I was looking for something similar for iOS devices, but I couldn’t find the App Updates section. Am I missing something?

You’re not missing anything.
The App Updates policy is currently available for macOS and Windows devices only.
For iOS devices, you can either:
Use the Install Application action to deploy the latest version, or
Deploy the app using a Required Apps policy if you want the app to remain enforced and it managed and kept updated.
