Hey everyone, I seem to be getting APNs expiry alerts, although I do not have an ADE account configured in my Hexnode UEM portal so far. Is this some sort of glitch?

@haanaa the Apple Push Notification Services (APNs) certificate configured in your portal has a validity of one year from the date of creation. The certificate can be renewed upon expiry from the Hexnode UEM portal.

Navigate to Admin tab in your Hexnode UEM portal and go to APNs from the side menu. The currently configured APNs certificate will be shown here. Click on the Renew Certificate button and then Generate CSR to download the Certificate Signing Request (CSR) locally. Further, click Next. In this next step, go to the Apple Push Portal and sign in using the Apple ID and password which was used to create the original APNs certificate.

In the Apple Push Portal, find the certificate to be renewed based on the expiration date and click Renew. The already downloaded CSR must be uploaded to the next page. When the CSR is uploaded, the new APNs certificate is automatically generated and downloaded locally.

In the Hexnode UEM Portal, click on the Next button and upload the new APNs certificate and click Finish to complete the renewal process.

@elle_reed , but I don’t have ADE in my portal, so why do I have to renew the APNs certificateIsn’t it only required if you have devices enrolled using Apple Business Manager?

@haanaa the APNs certificate is required to send push notifications from the UEM server to Apple devices, essentially facilitating communication between the two. Hence, for successfully managing any Apple devices (macOS, iOS, tvOS, etc.), this certificate configuration is essential.

@elle_reed I had completely misunderstood the purpose of APNs and thought it was only for ADE. Thanks for clearing it and yes; I will be renewing the certificate.
