Hi team,

One of our iOS devices has unfortunately been stolen. It had a Hexnode policy applied, and the last check-in was about two hours ago. I can see that the Modify Acc option is restricted, so at least the thief can’t change the iCloud account.

I’m wondering whats the best next steps are here. How do I track the device or protect the data if it doesn’t come back online soon?

Ouch, sorry to hear that. I had a similar case last year. The restriction on modifying the account is a lifesaver because it stops them from removing the device from MDM. In my case, I used Lost Mode to lock it down and display a message on the screen.

Yeah, Lost Mode is the way to go. It basically locks the device and shows whatever contact info you want. If you’re worried about sensitive data, wiping it remotely is also an option. Just depends on whether you want a chance to recover the device or prioritize data protection.
