Hi everyone, I’m trying to enable the personal hotspot on my Android device that’s locked down in kiosk mode with Hexnode. I’ve been looking around but can’t find any way to turn it on. Does anyone know how to get this working?
Wi-Fi Hotspot on android deviceSolved

Hey, I have run into something similar before. In my case, I had to tweak the kiosk policy settings. In the Peripheral settings, there are two options named “Wi-Fi Hotspot” and “Users can configure Wi-Fi hotspot”, maybe you can see if those are enabled? That might help get the hotspot to show up.
Thanks for the tip. I enabled those options, but the hotspot still isn’t showing up on the device. Any other ideas?
Hello, thanks for reaching out!
In addition to the kiosk settings, configurations within the Restrictions section of the associated policy could also affect the hotspot behaviour.
If the Portable Wi‑Fi hotspot option under Restrictions → Basic in Android has been set to Always Off modify this option to either Users can choose or Always On. If it remains set to Always Off, the hotspot will stay disabled even if you have enabled it in kiosk mode.
Once you update and push the policy to the device, the hotspot should appear and function as expected.

Ah, I didn’t realize the restriction policy could block it. Thank you for pointing that out.
I updated the Portable Wi-Fi hotspot option to “Users can choose”, and the hotspot is now visible and working properly in kiosk mode.
Thanks, @simon_scott !
