Hi team, A policy was assigned accidentally to a bunch of devices. Can we undo this action quickly? Additionally, I would like to know the technician who made that policy assignment. Is that possible?

don’t think there’s a straight “undo” button once a policy gets pushed out. The way I’ve handled it before is just by removing the policy from the devices to get things back to normal. As for figuring out who assigned it, I’m not really sure.

Thanks, @cullen , for sharing your input.

Regarding the first question: There isn’t a direct “undo” option once a policy has been assigned. Although, you can do is disassociate the policy from the devices. You can do this in two ways:

    1. Remove device from Policy Targets
      • Navigate to the Policies tab and select the policy.
      • Click Manage -> Modify.
      • Go to Policy Targets.
      • Click Remove All to unassign all the devices or click on the Delete Icon to remove any specific device.
    2. Remove the policy from the device
      • Go to the Manage tab and select the device or device group.
      • Navigate to the Policies section.
      • Click on the Delete icon to remove the policy from that device or device group.

Regarding the second question: Yes, you can track which technician assigned the policy. The steps are as follows:

  1. Navigate to Reports → Built-in Reports → Audit → Audit history.
  2. Use the filter option and select the event module as Policy.
  3. Locate the policy in question, and the audit history lists the technician’s email ID along with the timestamp for every event: policy creation, policy modification, and device assignment.

That’s good to know. I wasn’t aware of the Audit history report showing technician details.
