I have several old tablets in Hexnode that have not checked in for around two years. I don’t know where the devices are or whether they are still managed, but I need to set up new tablets soon and want to free up those licenses. What is the correct way to remove stale device records from the Hexnode portal?

Hello @aurora ,

You can remove stale device records by disenrolling them from the Hexnode UEM portal. This helps clear old entries that are no longer required and makes the license available for new enrollments.

For an individual device:

  1. Go to the Manage tab.
  2. Select the device you want to remove.
  3. Navigate to Actions > Device Control > Disenroll device.
  4. Confirm the action.

If the device is inactive or unable to receive the command, it may remain in a disenrollment pending state. For devices that are already in this state, you can complete the removal in bulk:

  1. Go to Reports > Device > Disenrollment pending devices.
  2. Select the required devices.
  3. Click Mark as disenrolled.

This is useful when old devices are no longer physically available or have not checked in for a long time.

Okayy got it. Also, is there a way to export the device list before removing them, and do exports always get emailed?

Yes. You can use the device reports from reports tab in the Hexnode UEM portal to export device details before starting the disenrollment process. If an export email does not arrive, check the exports/download area in the portal as well, since generated exports may be available there for download.
