Hey everyone, we provide work mobiles for our employees and recently ran into an issue. Our company does not use Google Workspace, so some employees ended up signing in with their personal Google accounts. When they left the company, they forgot to sign out. We reset the devices without realizing the account was still on them, and FRP kicked in. I do not think I need to explain the trouble that caused.

I just wanted to know if there is any way to completely disable FRP altogether, so we do not run into this again.

FRP is definitely there for a reason, but I understand what you are dealing with.

Hexnode does have a restriction for this under the Advanced Restrictions section called Factory Reset Protection (Google Account Verification). You can set its value to disable FRP and then associate the policy with the device. That should prevent FRP from triggering after a reset. I think when the device asks for Google account credentials, the user should be able to skip the verification by selecting Skip.

Yeah, I know FRP is mainly for theft protection, but in our situation, it becomes more of a hassle than a benefit. Thanks for the info, I honestly did not know Hexnode had that option.

There are so many features in Hexnode. We chose it based on our specific requirements, so we never really explored much beyond what we needed. I will definitely take a closer look this time.

I noticed something in the same restriction. There is a bypass FRP, and it mentions that we can configure a Google account ID that can be used instead of the original google account.

What exactly is a Google account id? I have seen it referenced, but I am not sure how you are supposed to find it.

The Google Account ID is a twenty-one digit ID linked to your Google account. You can use it to sign in on devices in situations where you do not remember or do not have access to the previously configured google account.

If you need to find your Google account ID, here is how you can get it:

  1. Open this Google developers page
  2. Under Request parameters, enter people/me under resourceName and metadata under personFields.
  3. Click on execute.
  4. Log in using your Google account.
  5. The twenty one digit number listed under id in the application Json response is your Google account ID.
