Portal Idle TimeoutSolved

Hey Community, is there a way to automatically log out technicians from the Hexnode portal after a period of inactivity? I’m essentially talking about a timeout option so that all the technicians using the portal can be logged out automatically, ideally after an hour or so. Currently, a technician once logged in is always in that state. If anyone knows of a setting or a workaround to enable this kind of timeout, it’d be great. Thanks in advance!

@arthur , before logging into the portal, in the login screen you can find the Remember Me option with which you can control the session timeout period. If you do not select the Remember Me option the session timeout period will be set to 60 minutes by default, where after 60 minutes of inactivity the user will be logged out the portal. Otherwise, if the option is selected, the session will remain active for 4 days maximum.

@skylar-a ,that’s an interesting option which I may have overlooked. Does any similar option exist in the portal we can use to set a specific timeout period?

Hey @arthur ,welcome to Hexnode Connect! There is an option in the Hexnode portal where you can get a technician to logout after a period of inactivity. By enabling it, you can set the time of inactivity after which the technician will be logged out of the portal. To configure this, go to Admin > Technicians and Roles and under Technicians you can edit an existing technician or create a new one. Here, under the Logout Automatically setting you can find the Logout after a period of inactivity option. Note that this setting will take precedence over the default timeout set using the Remember Me option.
