Hello,
Thanks for reaching out to Hexnode Connect.
Yes, this is a known behavior on certain Android devices, including several Zebra scanner models. Even if battery optimization is already disabled for the Hexnode application, the enrollment permission wizard can still trigger this prompt as part of its standard onboarding flow.
You can safely ignore this warning and move on. Simply grant the other required permissions on the screen, tap Next, and when the battery optimization prompt reappears, select Proceed anyway to complete your enrollment.
For future deployments, if you want to prevent your on-site techs from getting stuck on this prompt each time, you can remove it entirely from your provisioning flow—provided your Hexnode plan supports this configuration.
To disable the prompt for future enrollments:
- Navigate to Enroll > Android Enterprise > Enrollment Profiles in your Hexnode portal.
- Select or edit the specific enrollment profile you are using for your Zebra scanners.
- Locate the application configuration and set the option to “Do-not prompt” for the Battery Optimization.
- Save the profile.
Once updated, new devices scanning this QR code will skip the prompt entirely, allowing for a much faster and smoother enrollment process.
I hope this helps. If you find any more issues or need further assistance feel free to reach out.
Best regards,
George,
