Android kiosk weblink shows “Forbidden – Your administrator has blocked access”Solved

One specific web link in Android kiosk mode is not opening and shows: “Forbidden – Your administrator has blocked access.” Other web links in the same kiosk setup work fine, and the same URL opens normally when the device is taken out of kiosk mode. I tried adding the page URL under the allowed websites list, but then the behavior changed and the site seemed to hit a blocked login-related URL instead. What else needs to be allowed for this to work in kiosk?

Hi @arthur,

This usually happens when the web link depends on additional domains that are not included in the Android kiosk allowed websites list.

In Hexnode, go to Policies > Android Kiosk Lockdown > Website Kiosk Settings > Allowed Websites

Add the base URL of the website first, then save and apply the policy to the device. After the policy is updated on the device, try opening the web link again from kiosk mode.

If the page redirects to another domain or subdomain, such as an authentication or login domain, that URL must also be added to Allowed Websites. In kiosk mode, Hexnode blocks any website that is not explicitly allowed, even if the original web link itself is allowed.

Adding both the main URL and the login/redirect URL fixed it. The web link now opens properly in Android kiosk mode.
