Wiped devices still consuming licenses in HexnodeSolved

I wiped a few devices and reassigned them to new users, but the old device entries are still showing in Hexnode and seem to be consuming licenses. I tried using the device action to disenroll them from the Manage tab, but the licenses did not free up immediately. Is there another place where inactive or old device records need to be cleared?

Hi @liam_t,

If a wiped or inactive device still appears to be consuming a license, check whether the device is waiting to be marked as disenrolled.

Try this workflow:

  1. Go to the Manage tab.
  2. Open the old device entry.
  3. From Actions, choose Disenroll Device if it has not already been initiated.
  4. Then go to Reports > Devices > Disenrollment Pending Devices.
  5. Select the inactive device entry.
  6. From Actions, choose Mark as Disenrolled.

Once the device is marked as disenrolled from the Disenrollment Pending Devices report, the license should be released and become available for another device.

The Manage tab action alone didn’t release it for me. I found the old entries under Disenrollment Pending Devices, and they were all showing as inactive.

That pending report is the key part. If the device was wiped or no longer communicates with Hexnode, the disenrollment may not complete automatically from the device side. Marking it as disenrolled from the report confirms the old record can be cleared for license allocation.
