Windows Autopilot enrollment: Accept button not clickable on Hexnode Terms of Use screenSolved

Hi everyone. I am currently onboarding a new Windows PC through Autopilot and have run into a strange roadblock. I am completely stuck on the Hexnode – Terms of Use screen during the initial setup. The Accept button is visible on the screen, but clicking it with the mouse or touchpad does absolutely nothing. The screen itself isn’t frozen, but the button just won’t register the click.

Has anyone else experienced this UI glitch during Windows enrollment, and how can I bypass it without restarting the whole process?

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to Hexnode Connect.

Yes, this is a known behavior during the Windows Autopilot Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE). It is caused by a Microsoft-side UI focus issue where the mouse or touchpad occasionally fails to correctly focus on the Accept button within that specific window frame.

Fortunately, you do not need to restart the device or restart the enrollment process. You can easily bypass this glitch by using your keyboard to force the UI focus.

Here is the quick workaround:

  1. Press the Tab key on your keyboard repeatedly to cycle through the selectable elements on the Terms of Use screen.
  2. Stop tabbing once you see the Accept button visually highlighted.
  3. Press the Enter key to select it.

This keyboard input bypasses the mouse focus issue and will allow your enrollment flow to continue normally.

I hope this helps. If you find any more issues or need further assistance feel free to reach out.
