Hi there,
Heard how hackers might target device backups. Got paranoid and stopped the backup of our devices (knox devices enrolled as device owner in AE) to google drive for some time. Will the devices still sync to the google account? I would like the devices to be in sync as our contacts are stored in the google account.

Make sure that the option “Sync data with Google account” in Advanced Restrictions is enabled. This will let your device including your contacts to sync with the Google account.

You can prevent users from backing up to the Google drive by disabling the “Backup service” option found in the Restrictions sub-tab of the Android Policies. Note that this restriction is applicable only to Android 8.0+ devices enrolled in Android Enterprise. Refer to our help doc to know more about applying restrictions
