Hey everyone, we’re seeing issues with a VPP app on some of our macOS devices. The app recently got an update, and while most devices installed it fine during the VPP scan, a few keep showing “Failed to Update” when the update action runs.

@verbnigge , we had the same problem. Try doing a VPP sync and then push the Install Application action again through Hexnode. It has helped me at times with stuck updates.

Yeah, we tried that, but it didn’t work. The update still fails.

Could this be a compatibility issue? Some apps won’t update if the macOS version doesn’t meet the OS requirement.

@skylar-a , whad checked that too. The app supports macOS 12+, and our devices are running macOS 26.1, so that shouldn’t be the cause.

@verbnigge , whad faced the same thing recently. Turns out, it’s an issue with the device itself. Try uninstalling the currently installed app from the device and then initiate a fresh install action from Hexnode. It was the only solution that worked for us.
