Required Permissions screen closes instantly during Android enrollmentSolved

I’m enrolling a Lenovo Android tablet with Hexnode, but I’m stuck on the Required Permissions step. When I tap the toggle to enable a required permission, the Android settings screen opens and immediately dismisses, so I can’t manually turn the permission on. Because of that, the enrollment wizard won’t let me continue to the next step. Other Android tablets were enrolled earlier without this issue. Is there a way to get past this without manually toggling the permissions on the device?

his can be handled by pre-configuring the required app permissions in the Android Enterprise enrollment profile instead of enabling them manually during enrollment.

Try the following:

1. Login to Hexnode UEM, go to Android Enterprise enrollment.

2. Open the enrollment profile used for enrolling the tablet.

3. Go to App Configuration.

4. Set the required permissions to auto-enable.

5. Save the enrollment profile changes.

6. Factory reset the tablet.

7. Start enrollment again by scanning the QR code.

The permission settings in the enrollment profile are applied during a fresh enrollment. After re-enrolling, the device should be able to move past the Required Permissions screen without needing you to open and toggle each permission manually.

Do you have to reset the device after changing the enrollment profile? I’m seeing something similar, and I was hoping the setting would apply if I just went back a step in the enrollment flow.

Yes, a reset and fresh enrollment is recommended here. The auto-enable permission configuration is applied as part of the Android Enterprise enrollment flow. If the device is already midway through enrollment, it may not pick up the updated permission behavior reliably.

After updating the enrollment profile, reset the device and enroll it again using the QR code generated for that profile.
