I bought my iPhone 16 plus a few days ago and noticed something strange. When the screen starts to dim before turning off, the edges flash purple. The flashing stops if I touch the screen or press the power button. It only happens during that dimming moment. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, I’ve experienced something similar. In my case, the entire screen was flickering purple. I’d really like to know what’s causing this too.

I had a similar issue, but it got resolved after I changed my stock wallpaper. I found this fix while researching the problem. It worked for me, though it didn’t seem to help others who tried it. Thankfully, I haven’t seen the issue since.

I agree with what @finn said. The issue seems really inconsistent. Some people fixed it by changing the wallpaper, and others said it went away after the 18.1.1 update. Unfortunately, neither of those worked for me. I’m hoping a future update will fix it completely.

Thankfully, after changing the stock wallpaper I was using, the issue hasn’t come back for me.
