Hello,
Thanks for reaching out to Hexnode Connect.
When an iPad shows a partial setup warning during Apple Configurator enrollment, the device is left in an incomplete state. The cleanest recovery method is to erase the device and run the enrollment again from the beginning:
- Disconnect the iPad from Apple Configurator.
- Erase the iPad and start the setup again.
- In Apple Configurator, verify that your blueprint includes both the required Wi-Fi profile and the MDM enrollment profile.
- Reconnect the iPad over USB and apply the blueprint again.
- Complete the setup flow on the iPad, ensuring it connects to the configured Wi-Fi network, and allow a few minutes for Hexnode to finish syncing.
(Note: If you are using Apple Business Manager, verify the device is assigned correctly there before retrying).
Regarding app deployment, yes—once the iPad is enrolled, VPP apps added to your policies will push automatically. Just make sure to check your VPP license count and ensure the licenses are synced and available in Hexnode before pushing the apps.
Finally, you can use the same Apple Configurator enrollment profile for both iPhones and iPads if your base enrollment requirements are the same. However, it is highly recommended to create separate Hexnode policies for each device type. You can use dynamic device groups to automatically apply an iPad policy (with iPad-specific apps and restrictions) to iPads, and an iPhone policy to iPhones.
I hope this helps get your devices successfully enrolled. Feel free to reach out if you have any more doubts or need further assistance.
Best regards,
George,
