There is a lot of confusing info out there, but here is the reality. There are no public lookup tool, dialer code, or secret settings toggle for Android Zero touch. It is a backend google service. The phone simply checks a google server during the initial setup to see if a company claimed its IMEI. Since the public cannot access that database, you cannot just search your IMEI online.

If you need to know what state the phone is in right now, here are your options.

1. The Factory reset (The only 100% confirmation)
Zero Touch only triggers during the initial device setup. The absolute most reliable way to know is to back up your data and wipe the phone. Connect to Wi Fi on the first setup screen. If it immediately locks into a “This device is managed by” screen and forces you to download an app like Hexnode, it is enrolled in a Zero Touch portal. If it skips that and lets you sign in with a normal personal account, you are clear.

2. Checking for Current Management (Without wiping)
If you do not want to reset it yet, look for these signs of active management:

  • Pull down your notification shade all the way. Fully managed devices often have text at the very bottom or top saying the device is managed by an organization.
  • Look in your app drawer for an MDM agent app like Hexnode UEM, Google Device Policy, or Microsoft Intune.
  • Search your settings for Device admin apps. If an MDM app is listed there and the toggle is locked so you cannot turn it off, the device is definitely enterprise managed.

Note that, seeing an mdm app or a managed device warning does not automatically mean the phone is registered in a Zero touch portal. It could have just been manually enrolled by an IT admin in standard device owner mode. However, if a factory reset forces that management screen to come back automatically, that is definitive proof of zero touch.

If you bought this phone used and a reset locks you into a company portal, you cannot bypass it yourself. You have to contact the IT department listed on the screen or the seller and ask them to remove your imei from their database.
