I’m testing app deployment for Windows PCs and want to confirm how EXE setup files behave in Hexnode. If I add a setup executable as an enterprise app and deploy it to a device, will Hexnode run the installer automatically, or does someone still need to manually open the setup file on the PC?
Also, for Success Criteria, can I use the default installed executable path to verify that the app installed correctly?

Yes @abel-j. When an EXE setup file is added as an enterprise app in Hexnode and deployed to a Windows device, Hexnode can run the installer automatically. The setup file does not need to be manually launched on the device.
To allow Hexnode to verify whether the installation completed successfully, configure Success Criteria while adding the enterprise app. For an EXE deployment, a common method is to use a file path check.
For example, if the app installs its executable in the default Program Files location, the Success Criteria can check for the installed executable at a path such as:
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
If Hexnode finds the specified file after deployment, the app installation is marked as successful.

For the file path Success Criteria, does the path need to include just the folder, or should it include the actual .exe file name too?
The full path should include the executable file name as well, not just the folder location.
For example, use:
C:\Program Files\<app folder>\<app>.exe\
instead of only:
C:\Program Files\<app folder>
Hexnode checks for the specific file at the defined location. If that executable exists after installation, the deployment can be treated as successful based on that Success Criteria.
