Cancel a pending wipe action sent to a device group in HexnodeSolved

I accidentally sent a Wipe Device remote action to a device group instead of the intended device. The action is still showing as Pending, and the group has around 100+ devices. I can see an “x” next to the wipe action on individual Action History pages, but I cannot find a way to cancel it for the whole group. Is there a bulk cancel option for pending wipe actions?

Hi @pepijn,

If the wipe action is still in Pending status and an “x” appears next to it in Action History, the action can be canceled by clicking that “x”.

However, bulk cancellation of pending wipe actions is not currently supported from the Hexnode portal. Pending wipe actions must be canceled individually from each device’s Action History page.

To identify the affected devices more easily:

  1. On your Hexnode UEM portal, go to Reports > Action > Action History Report.
  2. Select Filter > Action Status, and choose Pending.
  3. Sort the report to locate the devices that still have the wipe action queued.

You can then open each affected device, go to its Action History, and cancel the pending wipe action using the “x” next to the action.

So there is no group-level undo even if the wipe command was originally sent to a device group? I was hoping there might be a way to cancel it from the group action history instead of opening every device.

Hi @pepijn,

Once a remote action is sent to a device group, Hexnode queues the action separately for each targeted device. The group is only the target used to initiate the action; cancellation has to be performed on each device’s individual pending action entry.

The Action History Report filtered by Pending is the recommended way to narrow down the list and track which devices still need cancellation. If the “x” is not shown for a particular action, that action cannot be canceled from the portal in its current state.
