I am checking an existing Android policy in Hexnode and want to see the permissions for a specific third-party app, like WhatsApp. Is there a place in the portal that shows the full list of permissions requested by the app, as well as what is currently configured in the policy?

Hey @maevee,

You can view the permissions actively configured within a policy, but there is an important distinction regarding how third-party app manifests are handled:

  • Configured Policy Permissions: To see what permissions are currently enforced by Hexnode UEM, navigate to Policies > select your existing policy > Manage > Android > App Management > App Permissions. If the app has been added, you will see the enforced actions (Default, Allow, or Deny).
  • Full App Permission List: Hexnode does not display the complete list of all permissions requested by a third-party app (like WhatsApp) within the portal. The console allows you to manage supported runtime permissions rather than auditing the app’s entire raw permission manifest.
  • If you need to view the full array of permissions a third-party app requires on Android, you will need to check its official Google Play Store listing or its developer manifest documentation.
