Hey, Thanks for reaching out to us.

You can automatically update the store apps on Android devices enrolled in Android Enterprise. The desired Google Play apps have to be approved and added to the Hexnode app inventory. This has to be then pushed to the devices as Mandatory Apps.

For adding Mandatory Apps via policy:

  • Navigate to Policies-> Android-> App Management-> Mandatory Apps and click Configure.
  • Click on +Add and add the desired apps or app groups.
  • Associate targets and save the policy.

Once these apps are pushed as Mandatory apps to the devices, you can update the app by the following steps:

  • Navigate to the Apps tab.
  • You can filter the apps based on App Type. Choose the option ‘Store App’ to list the store apps.
  • Click on the app to be updated.
  • Click on the gear icon at the top-right corner and choose the option ‘Check for updates’.

The app will get updated if an update is available. Or else, it will be shown that there are no available updates.

Check out our help doc on App Updation for more info.

Cheers!
