Auto-assign Android policies after QR code enrollmentSolved

We enroll Android devices using QR code, not by assigning them to users. I want the device to get a policy automatically as soon as it finishes QR enrollment, without having to go into the portal and manually assign the policy after each device is added. What is the correct way to set this up in Hexnode? Also, I noticed the auto-sync interval shows 240 minutes on the Pro plan. Can that be reduced?

For Android devices enrolled using a QR code, target the policy to a device group instead of targeting users.

Recommended setup:

1. Create or open the Android policy you want to deploy.

2. Go to the policy’s target section and associate it with a device group. You can also do this from Manage > Device Groups, open the required group, go to the Policies tab, and choose Associate Policy.

3. Use a group that the QR-enrolled devices will automatically belong to. For example, if the policy should apply to every Android device, associate it with the built-in All Android Devices group.

4. Complete QR code enrollment on the device.

Once the device completes enrollment and appears in Hexnode as part of that device group, the associated policy is applied automatically. You do not need to manually assign the policy to each device from the portal.

If you are using a custom device group instead of All Android Devices, make sure the devices are added to that group automatically, such as through a dynamic group rule or an enrollment workflow that places matching Android devices into that group. Otherwise, the policy will not apply until the device becomes a member of the targeted group.
