Apple DEP sync initially failed but continued syncing devices from ABMSolved

Tried running an Apple DEP sync from Hexnode and it initially showed as failed. A little later, it seemed to restart on its own and began progressing faster. There are no pending terms and conditions in Apple Business. The DEP account has a large number of devices, so I’m wondering if this is expected behavior or if something else needs to be checked.

Hello @wilma ,

For Apple DEP/Automated Device Enrollment sync issues, one of the first things to verify is whether there are any updated Apple Business terms and conditions waiting to be accepted. Pending terms in Apple Business can prevent DEP syncs from completing successfully.

If there are no pending terms and conditions, allow the sync some time to complete, especially when the DEP account contains a large number of devices. Syncing tens of thousands of devices can take longer, and the progress may continue even if the initial attempt appeared to fail or restart.

Checked Apple Business and there are no pending terms to accept. The sync is still running now. It started at around some of the devices and is continuing to move forward.

In that case, it is best to continue monitoring the sync progress. Since the device count is high, the sync may take some time to process all assigned DEP devices from Apple Business into Hexnode. If the count keeps increasing, the sync is actively progressing.
